On the death of a tyrant.

νῦν χρῆ μεθύσθην καί τινα πὲρ βίαν
πώνην, ἐπεὶ δὴ κάτθανε Μύρσιλος.

Now one must get drunk and drink with all one’s might, since Myrsilus has died.

δάμνα λᾶον Ἀμαχανίᾳ σὺν ἀδελφέα.

Poverty is a troublesome thing, an unmanageable evil; with her sister Hardship she subdues a great people.
