παύροισι δὲ θνατῶν τὸν ἅπαντα χρόνον δαίμων ἔδωκεν
πράσσοντας ἐν καιρῷ πολιοκρόταφον
γῆρας ἱκνεῖσθαι πρὶν ἐγκύρσαι δύᾳ.

God has allowed few mortals to prosper for their whole lives and to reach grey-templed old age before they meet with woe.
